XXI Reigate Model United Nations
It is a great honour to invite you to the twenty-first Reigate Model United Nations (ReiMUN) conference which will take place at Reigate Grammar School on Saturday 23rd September 2017.
Model United Nations is a unique educational activity. It is a simulation of the real United Nations, in which young people take on the role of diplomats to discuss some of the most important issues facing humanity, with a view to proposing realistic solutions to these problems. Through taking part in Model United Nations, participants improve their ability to compromise, persuade and lead. They learn about the world and become more internationally-minded. The aim is to produce a generation of young people armed with the tools to build a better world.
ReiMUN aims to be a welcoming and fun experience for all participants, numbering over 350 last year. For a day delegates of all backgrounds and levels of experiences come together to debate and discuss some of the most pressing issues affecting our world. Those who participate fully have tremendous fun.
The format of ReiMUN 21 will be similar to previous conferences. The provisional programme of events for the conference can be found here. We are aiming to host around sixty delegations, and there will be six committees plus a Security Council. The cost for the conference will be £20 per delegate.
The deadline for submission of the country selection form is the 31st March.
If you have experienced students who would like to chair, please ask them to complete the chair application form. Please return these forms by the 31st March.
I look forward to welcoming you to our school in September.
